Lynda A. Taylor
National President 2011-2012

On
Saturday, August 13, 2011, Lynda A. Taylor was elected National
President of the AMVETS National Ladies Auxiliary at the AMVETS
Ladies Auxiliary’s 65th National Convention in St. Louis,
MO.
Lynda is a life member of Auxiliary #13 of Redgranite, Wisconsin
where she has been actively involved for over 23 years. She is
currently their local president and Americanism co-chairman. Lynda
also volunteers as the department co-chairman of the Wisconsin
Veterans Home at King and is a member of the King Rec Committee,
serving as their chairman for the previous two years.
Working through the chairs, Lynda was elected Department President
in 1991/92 and again in 2002/03. Lynda also served two terms as
Wisconsin’s NECWoman.
On
the National level, Lynda has served on many committees. She was
appointed National Hospital Chairman in 1999/2001 and has served as
your National Chaplain (two terms), National Americanism Officer,
Third Vice President, Second Vice President, and First Vice
President.
Lynda retired after being employed for over 21 years at the Waushara
County Department of Human Services where she was the Access Worker
for the Child and Family Services Unit. Lynda and her husband
received Redgranite’s “Honored Citizen Award” in 2000 for dedicated
service to community and country. She continues to be very active
in community affairs as well as being a strong advocate for all
veterans and active duty personnel and their families. As the wife
of a retired Navy Chief, Lynda understands the challenges that
military life has for families. Lynda also remains a strong voice
in legislative issues affecting the veteran community. She was
named Wisconsin’s auxiliary member of the year in 2010.
Lynda served as president of her local Lion’s Club for several terms
and attended state Lions Conventions and seminars, along with the
Lions International Convention when held in Taipei, Taiwan. As a
Navy wife, she served as Ombudsman, the liaison between the
commanding officer and the families of the crew. During her
husband’s Navy career the family lived in various locations; Long
Beach, CA (4 times) and Port Hueneme, CA (2 times), Corpus Christi,
TX and Rota, Spain for 3 ½ years .
Lynda and her husband PNC Chuck Taylor have been married for 45
years. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Their daughter
Tammi and her husband Rob are life members of AMVETS Auxiliary &
Post 13. Their 2 daughters are youth volunteers. Lynda and Chuck
are residents of Redgranite, Wisconsin and in winter months, become
“winter Texans” at their residence in Zapata, TX.
